Twin County Taps Two VPs
County Grocers here said it has made two executive appointments: James. F. McGuire as executive vice president, a new position, and Peter R. Lavoy as group vice president of sales and merchandising.
McGuire, 56, who has been with Twin County for more than 17 years, was most recently group vice president for retail operations and services. In his new post he continues to be responsible for retail operations and services while adding oversight of business development and strategic planning.
He reports to John D'Ambrosio, president and chief executive officer, and Nicholas D'Agostino Jr., chairman.
Lavoy, 56, was corporate vice president of merchandising and procurement at A&P, Montvale, N.J. He succeeds Gary Hilliard, who is working with Lavoy and taking on special assignments prior to retiring, the company said.
In his new job Lavoy oversees the purchase of groceries, direct-store delivery items, frozen food, ice cream, bakeoff products, health and beauty aids and general merchandise. He also is responsible for sales and merchandising of Twin County's Foodtown cooperative, including advertising and target marketing. He reports to D'Ambrosio.
Richfood Appoints VP of HR
RICHMOND, Va. -- Richfood Holdings here said Jena E. Abernathy has been named senior vice president of human resources. She fills a post that has been vacant for several months.
Abernathy, 35, was senior vice president of human resources and administration for McKesson General Medical Corp. here, a division of McKesson Corp., San Francisco.
