Save Mart Supermarkets recently remodeled a store in Porterville, Calif., that highlights the chain’s roots in the Central Valley with in-store signage and a new store logo.
“This store captures everyday life in the Central Valley, where the passion for fresh food is deeply rooted in agriculture and family tradition,” Nicole Pesco, Save Mart’s co-president and chief strategy and branding officer, said in a press release.
The produce department calls out local California products, like carrots from Bakersfield.
The “Valley Fresco” section of the produce department features fresh cut fruit and infused waters.
Even the floral department shows off local products.
In prepared foods, there is a nacho, taco and burrito bar.
Save Mart plans to use this new logo for stores while retaining its existing corporate logo.
