The new Winn-Dixie in Viera, Fla., was converted from an Earth Fare store acquired by Southeastern Grocers.
Located in the Viera Village Center, the new Winn-Dixie offers six front-row golf cart parking spaces to cater to the community's transportation preferences.
Winn-Dixie held the grand opening for the Viera store on May 5. The chain opened eight Florida stores in 2020.
Grab-and-go meal options at the store include chef-prepared plant-based proteins, take-and-bake pizzas and fresh-made sushi.
The produce department serves up a bigger choice in signature categories like fresh and dried peppers, tomatoes and mushrooms, along with tropical fruit and over 100 organic varieties.
Locally caught seafood offerings include Florida Keys lobster, stone crab and large freshwater shrimp, plus seasonal fare like mahi mahi, grouper and triggerfish.
An ample selection of wine and craft beer are among the beverage offerings.
Fifteen varieties of artisan-baked breads are a highlight of the bakery department.
A Winn-Dixie liquor store opened next door to the supermarket earlier this year.
Going forward, about 87% of Southeastern Grocers' store base will consist of the Winn-Dixie banner.
