PATHMARK HOSTS ANNUAL KOSHER FAIR
MONTVALE, N.J. — Pathmark will host its annual Kosher Fair on Sunday, March 8, at the company's Monsey, N.Y., location. Started over 10 years ago to help the area's Jewish community prepare for Passover and Purim, the event has grown into one of the largest kosher events in the region, featuring dairy, bakery, deli and meat products, as well as kosher vendors from throughout the U.S., including Streits Matzo, Tabatchnick Soups, Osem USA, Manischewitz Co., Joyva Candy, Kedem, Reisman Passover, Klein's Naturals and Kellers. Most attending vendors hold in-store demos offering shoppers samples and preparation tips.
UNITED FRESH TO HONOR SHAVEY
WASHINGTON — The United Fresh Produce Association has announced that Heather Shavey, Costco Wholesale's assistant general marketing manager for fresh foods and produce, will be honored at the association's annual Reception Honoring Women in Produce event, Thursday evening, April 22, at the Palazzo Hotel, Las Vegas, in conjunction with the United Fresh 2009 expo and convention.
ADA TO UNVEIL BAKING RESEARCH
ANAHEIM, Calif. — The American Dietetic Association will report exclusive new research on consumer attitudes toward better-for-you baked goods, as well as shoppers' understanding of topics such as trans fats and omega-3 fatty acids, at the Healthy Baking Seminar on March 5, co-located here with the Natural Products Expo West show next week. The series will also include a presentation on managing nutrition label challenges, a demonstration session on healthful baking tips and techniques in action, and a breakout session where attendees can meet with baking experts.
