PENN TRAFFIC'S VP, GENERAL COUNSEL PRICE RESIGNS

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Francis D. Price Jr., vice president and general counsel of Penn Traffic here, has resigned, Penn Traffic said in a government filing last week. The retailer said Price resigned effective Nov. 10 and would receive severance payments under the company's current plan, but did not give a reason for his departure. Earlier this year Deloitte & Touche resigned as Penn Traffic's accounting firm, citing it was “unwilling to rely on representations from the company's internal general counsel” on matters of an investigation into its accounting practices.

WINN-DIXIE NAMES REINKEN AS NEW VP OF FINANCE

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores added three managers to its corporate staff, the retailer here said. Sheila Reinken was named vice president of finance and treasurer. Reinken most recently was chief financial officer of vFinance, and previously worked with Burger King, American Eagle Outfitters, Ames Department Stores and Levitz Furniture. Winn-Dixie also named Jeff Gottlieb senior director of tax and Laura Booras director of talent acquisition. Gottlieb previously served as vice president of tax for the St. Joe Co. here. Booras most recently served as vice president for Safety-Kleen.

LOBLAW SUPPLY CHAIN EXECUTIVE MCMAHON TO STAY

TORONTO — Loblaw here last week said Peter McMahon, its executive vice president of supply chain, will not be leaving the company after all. Loblaw announced last month that McMahon was leaving Loblaw in December for personal reasons and had accepted a position with a retailer in his native United Kingdom. McMahon formerly worked with Wal-Mart in Germany and was brought to Loblaw to smooth over issues in a supply chain re-engineering.
