GMA Adds Policy Manager
rocery Manufacturers of America here has named Anna Matz to the new position of manager of public policy communications.
Matz will help promote GMA's legislative agenda with communications efforts. She will support GMA's government relations program, which includes environmental, state and federal affairs. Matz reports to Ben Zingman, vice president of communications.
Matz joins GMA from the office of Sen. Robert Smith, R-N.H., where she served as deputy press secretary.
McCarthy Joins Automation
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Automation Inc. here, the manufacturer and distributor of Clean Shower shower cleaner, has named Patrick McCarthy to the new position of ambassador for corporate/customer relations. McCarthy will work with major chain-store accounts to grow the Clean Shower brand.
McCarthy spent 26 years at Ocean Spray, the last 16 years as group vice president, before retiring in 1995. At Automation he reports to Paul Porter, chief operating officer.
Daily use of Clean Shower is said to eliminate soap scum, hard water deposits and mildew without scrubbing. A quart bottle of Clean Shower retails for about $2.59.
Drost to Head Tree of Life Division
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Tree of Life here has named Willem Drost president of its Gourmet Award food division in Hayward, Calif. He succeeds Orian Collinsworth, who resigned.
In other news, Tree of Life named Dot Peck director of sales/natural foods at Gourmet Award, a position that had been vacant; and Gary Schneider was named director of sales/specialty foods at Gourmet Award, a new position.
