NASH FINCH TAPS POORE TO HEAD MILITARY UNIT

AWG PROMOTES PUHL TO SENIOR VP POSITION
KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Associated Wholesale Grocers here has promoted Frances Pellegrino Puhl to senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Prior to her promotion, Puhl served as vice president and general counsel. Puhl has been with AWG since 1987, when she came on board as general counsel. During her 17 years with the company, she was instrumental in AWG's acquisitions and growth activity, the company said. Puhl's new position as corporate secretary will increase her involvement with the board of directors and with each of AWG's subsidiary companies.
AHOLD NAMES GIBBONS TO NEW TECHNOLOGY POST
ZAANDAM, Netherlands -- Ahold said it has named Alex Gibbons chief information officer, a newly created position. Gibbons joined Ahold from Pillsbury/Diageo, where he held the same title. He previously held senior technology leadership positions in Bristol-Myers Squibb and CBS. He has more than 25 years of technology experience in various industries, including consumer goods and pharmaceuticals. Gibbons was a founder of Transora, the industry business-to-business exchange. At Ahold, Gibbons will be responsible for the company's IT operations in the United States and Europe. The post was created as part of the company's restructuring in an effort to unify Ahold's technology operations.
ADCOCK SELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF EPCGLOBAL
BRUSSELS, Belgium -- The Board of Governors of EPCglobal here last week named Chris Adcock president. Adcock's appointment was also approved by the respective boards of EAN International and the Uniform Code Council, which are co-partners in the EPCglobal venture. Adcock will lead the global, multi-industry adoption of the EPCglobal network, which uses radio frequency identification and a network system to capture information and enable real-time identification and sharing of information throughout the global supply chain. Since 1989, he has held a series of senior management positions in Europe with The Gillette Co.
