Mistic's Italian Ice Smoothies hit shelves in April and are available in four flavors: lemon ice, tutti-frutti, cherry ice and blue raspberry. They contain no fat or cholesterol per serving and come in a 12-ounce bottle reminiscent of a parfait glass, which features colorful graphics and a wide-mouth opening. Another item being introduced in April by Mistic is the Sun Valley Squeeze. It is available in Orange Bliss, Mango Dream, Strawberry Sizzle and Fruit Rage. All four drinks are vitamin fortified with vitamins A, C and E. Sun Valley Squeeze uses an innovative "Cold Trap" blending process that extracts fruit flavors under cold conditions to maximize taste. The Italian Ice Smoothies and Sun Valley Squeeze launch will be sustained by in-store merchandising, including visible merchandising racks and point-of-sale materials. Advertising will also be done on radio and outdoor billboards, as well as with couponing and local market promotions.

Pepsi Unleashes Light Storm

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Pepsi-Cola North America here announced that Light Storm, a new zero-calorie version of Storm, has hit store shelves in 11 market areas.

Light Storm is lightly carbonated lemon-lime soft drink that contains acesulfame potassium, or Ace-K, as one of its sweeteners. Ace-K is found in Pepsi One, which was launched in October of 1998. Light Storm is specially formulated with caffeine and other natural flavors. Marketing support for Light Storm includes in-store sampling and aggressive promotional activity. Pespi-Cola North America is the global beverage division of PepsiCo Inc.

ROSLYN, N.Y. -- Apple and Eve here have introduced a new line of Sesame Street-themed 100% juices with calcium fortification.

The new line, introduced in early May at the Food Marketing Institute show in Chicago, will feature five Sesame Street characters from the hit children's television show. The juices will be available in 64-ounce PET bottles and 125-ml aseptic packages. The flavors with characters are Elmo's Punch, Big Bird's Apple, Bert and Ernie's Berry, Grover's Grape and Zoe's Orange. Suggested retail price is between $2.59 and $2.79.

Snapple's New Drinks for Summer

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Snapple Beverage Corporation here has announced the launch of Hydro and Sun Teas, all natural thirst quenchers and sun-brewed teas. The Hydro line includes four thirst quenchers: fruit punch, orange tangerine, grape and lemon lime. There are also two real brewed sun teas that contain no artificial coloring: all natural Sun Tea and Diet Sun Tea. Suggested retail price is $1.19.

Also new for the summer is a lemonade iced tea drink called Kris's Mix-Up, named after a current Snapple employee.

The new beverage combines iced tea with lemonade and has a tart and sweet flavor.
