SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper here said it has hired Paul White as director of talent acquisition, overseeing the daily operation of the recruiting department for the 119-store chain. He reports to Paul Rollins, vice president of talent management. Before joining Price Chopper, White worked at Office Depot and Cingular Wireless and had been a recruiting consultant.
STANEC JOINS PIGGLY WIGGLY IN IT
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Piggly Wiggly Carolina here said it has named Steve Stanec vice president of information services. He brings 11 years of technology experience to the company, most recently as chief technology officer for Palm Beach County, Fla. Piggly Wiggly said Stanec previously undertook a “successful, massive PeopleSoft implementation, which Piggly Wiggly is continuing to implement.” The chain operates about 115 stores in South Carolina and supplies another 25 independent stores.
GIANT-CARLISLE PROMOTES SHRADER
CARLISLE, Pa. — Giant Food Stores here last week said it has promoted Bill Shrader to vice president of real estate. With the company since 1995, Shrader most recently was the director of real estate. He will report to Jim Ferraro, executive vice president of real estate and construction. Shrader succeeds Gerry Adams, who is retiring in July, according to Giant, which is owned by Amsterdam-based Ahold.
