EDINA, Minn. — In-store appearances by professional baseball players are part of Lund Food Holdings' "Minnesota Twins Grilling Series." On Saturday, July 17, Twins' pitcher Matt Guerrier will make an appearance at Byerly's Eagan store; while pitcher Jesse Crain will visit the Plymouth location.
Along with the appearances, all Lunds and Byerly's locations will promote the retailer's baby back ribs throughout the day.
"We're firing up the grills for you to sample our pork ribs smothered in four of our favorite BBQ sauces... you choose your favorite," Lund writes in promotional materials.
Those who purchase the ribs between July 15-21 will receive an entry form for a chance to win Twins tickets, autographed baseballs and other baseball-themed prizes.
The retailer will distribute samples of its signature cranberry maple baked beans and coleslaw. Producers of rib sauces will be present to sample their products. They include local vendors Wee Willy's, Triple Crown, Demon Pig and Michelbob's.
"The saucemakers themselves will be grillin' pork and samplin' their sauce," according to Lund.
