Steinhafel to Chair RILA Board

NAPLES, Fla. — The Retail Industry Leaders Association said Gregg Steinhafel (right), chairman, president and chief executive officer of Target Corp., was elected chairman of the board of RILA at the association’s semi-annual meeting here Sunday.

Steinhafel succeeds Bill Rhodes, CEO of AutoZone, who has served as RILA’s chairman since 2010. Rhodes Sunday was elected to serve on RILA’s board.

In addition to Steinhafel and Rhodes, RILA elected the following industry executives as officers on its 18-member board Sunday: Richard Dreiling (chairman and CEO, Dollar General Corp.); Gregory Wasson (right, president and CEO, Walgreen Inc.); Eric Wiseman (CEO, VF Corp.) and Robert Niblock  (CEO, Lowe’s Cos.).

Also, Walter Robb, co-chief executive officer of Whole Foods Market, and Alan Hoskins, president and CEO, Energizer Households Products, were elected to the board for a two-year term.

RILA, based in Washington, represents large chain retailers.
