CINCINNATI — National Donut Day, orchestrated here for the first time by the Greater Cincinnati Bakers Association and the local chapter of the Salvation Army, was a huge success, the event's planners told SN. Local supermarkets, including Kroger, supplied doughnuts for a special event at Cincinnati's Fountain Square Park this month that attracted more 2,000 people, and sent sales of doughnuts soaring for local bakeries.
