Harris Teeter Installs Fiber-Optic Lighting in Virginia Store

MATTHEWS, N.C. - Harris Teeter here has installed Fiberstars‘ EFO fiber-optic lighting systems in a Leesburg, Va., store and placed a second order for a store in Alexandria, Va., Fiberstars, Solon, Ohio, announced yesterday. An additional three stores are currently being audited for future installations. "Fiberstars‘ EFO is the most energy-efficient lighting solution available for in-store accent lighting," said John Davenport, chief executive officer of Fiberstars, in a statement. "By utilizing EFO, Harris Teeter can expect to double existing light levels while saving energy. Further, since EFO produces no heat at the endpoint, it is an ideal solution for seafood, chocolate, wine and other heat-sensitive products.”
