Restaurant Chefs Helm Healthy Living Market

As grocers continue to elevate their prepared foods game with restaurant-quality cuisine, some like Healthy Living Market and Cafe, a regional, independent supermarket specializing in local, organic and natural foods with stores in South Burlington and Williston, Vt., and Saratoga Springs, N.Y., are hiring restaurant-trained talent to reimagine the supermarket deli.

Healthy Living Market’s VP of Culinary Matthew Jennings (pictured at left) is a former restaurant chef, a James Beard Award nominee and past competitor on the Food Network’s “Iron Chef Showdown.” Jennings was hired to build a chef-driven team and seasonally focused culinary program for the independent grocer.

Most recently, Healthy Living added Chef Michael Daley to its South Burlington, Vt., location’s culinary team. Daley will work with Healthy Living’s growing team of culinary talent to bring the brand’s new HL Fresh line to life. Daley comes to Healthy Living after a lengthy career in the restaurant industry, having led both Michelin-starred and AAA Five Diamond kitchens.
