FOUNDER AND CEO IMPOSSIBLE FOODS

Patrick Brown is founder and CEO of Redwood City, Calif.-based Impossible Foods, a company at the forefront of the plant-based protein movement. The idea for Impossible Foods came to Brown while he was on sabbatical from the Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, Calif. Seeking to use his experience to make the largest positive impact on the environment and the world’s food supply, he launched Impossible Foods with the goal of providing affordable plant-based meat and dairy products. The brand has experienced tremendous growth since its January 2019 launch of the Impossible Burger 2.0, which is now sold in more than 15,000 restaurants in the United States and Asia. Impossible Foods, which was recently greenlighted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to sell through the retail channel, has also announced a co-manufacturing collaboration with global food provider OSI Group. Brown is also the co-founder of Lyrical Foods Inc., maker of Kite Hill artisanal nut milk-based cheese and yogurt.
