AFFI, NFFA ELECT OFFICERS AT JOINT FROZEN FOOD SHOW

LAS VEGAS -- The American Frozen Food Institute, McLean, Va., and the National Frozen Food Association, Harrisburg, Pa., elected new officers and board members to their respective organizations at the National Frozen Food Convention here.

The AFFI elected H. Reid Wagstaff, vice president of government and environmental affairs for J.M. Smucker Co., Salinas, Calif., as its chairman. He had been first vice chairman. Wagstaff is a member of the board of directors of Second Harvest, Yosemite National Institute and the Monterey County Business Council. He succeeds William S. Smittcamp.

George A. Franklin, vice president of worldwide government affairs at Kellogg Co., Battle Creek, Mich., was elected first vice chairman. He had been second vice chairman and also served aas chairman of the AFFI's Legislative Committee. Currently, he serves on the Industry Sector Advisory Committee on Consumer Goods for Trade Policy Matters in the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Kathleen Kelly Spear, vice president and deputy general counsel at Kraft Foods, Northfield, Ill., was elected second vice chairman. The NFFA elected Rosemary Driebe Olofsson as chairwoman of its board, succeeding Jim Childers. Olofsson, executive vice president of Pocono Produce Co., Stroudsburg, Pa., has been an active member of the NFFA for many years. She is also a member of the Distinguished Order of Zerocrats. Other NFFA officers sworn in were Mark King of Marketing Specialists Sales Co. as chairman elect, Pat Brooks of Save Mart Supermarkets as vice chairman for retail, Tim Carpers of F.A.B. Inc. as vice chairman for food service, John Crown of Performance Food Group as secretary and Daryl Mills of Winn-Dixie Stores as treasurer.
