MINNEAPOLIS -- Nash Finch Co. here said last week it plans to close distribution centers in Nebraska and North Carolina as part of an ongoing review of operations.

e company's facility in Omaha, Neb., "which has the capacity to absorb the additional business without need for expansion."

A smaller portion of the Grand Island volume will be shifted to the distributor's Denver, Colo., facility, the company added.

The Grand Island warehouse, which Nash Finch owns, will be marketed for sale after the closing is completed, the company said. It also said it will assist the facility's 90 employees to seek other jobs.

Nash Finch said it also plans to close its 192,000-square-foot distribution center in Rocky Mountain, N.C., and a 16,000-square foot produce warehouse in Wilmington, N.C., but not until it completes a 90,000-square-foot addition to its facility in Lumberton, N.C., that will boost that facility's size to approximately 350,000 square feet.
