CHESHIRE, Conn. -- Whole Foods Market last month broke ground on a new distribution center here that could eventually support 60 stores in the region, a spokeswoman for the company told SN last week.

The new 158,000-square-foot warehouse here will have 90,000 square feet of refrigerated space, 60,000 square feet of dry goods space and 8,000 square feet of office space.

"That area is certainly one that is growing," said Amy Hopfensperger, a spokeswoman for Whole Foods.
