The family-owned and operated Joe Caputo & Sons Fruit Market IGA opened its fourth location in May in the Chicago suburb of Northbrook.

Starting as a produce market in 1989, the retailer has developed a reputation as a source of fresh produce, as well as Italian specialties such as cannoli and eggplant parmesan. It also offers a wide variety of other ethnic cuisine including Polish, Greek, Russian, German, Lithuanian, Hispanic and Asian.

At its new location, Joe Caputo & Sons Fruit Market has expanded its produce and liquor sections and added a café.

The Northbrook site is one of four former Dominick’s stores purchased by the retailer in January 2014. Renovations of the other locations are scheduled to be completed later this year.
