Costco Wholesale is switching back to Coke products over Pepsi. Ron Vachris, CEO of the warehouse retailer, announced that Costco would make the switch on its food court fountains to Coca-Cola products during the company’s shareholder meeting on Jan. 23.

Vachris made the news official following a question from a shareholder regarding the change, which had previously been rumored. The company had originally switched from Coca-Cola to Pepsi products in its food courts in 2013 to maintain the price of its iconic $1.50 hot dog combo.

Here’s what you think about the move:

Tony Chicarelli, Food & Beverage, DSD, Wholesale, Retail

Have both. Give consumers freedom of choice.

Phil McMahon, Retail & Engagement Strategist

Prioritise shoppers over brands. Offer both.

John Moseley, Principal owner of Harvest Connection Foods, LLC

In Texas at least Coca-Cola is King!

Tracy Noseworthy, Founder/Owner Trayvino Wine Company

Why not support and carry both- or is the Coke exclusivity kickback deal just too big to pass up? That’s the problem: the bigger the company, the more they can pay for the business!!

Omar Rimawi, End-To-End Video Production

Costco regulars have been upset about this on TikTok, especially the food review pages. Just saying.

Marty Lukes, Food Lion sales associate

Pepsi sales have been better than coke, believe it or not

James Montesantos, Safety & Retail Leadership

I am always Pepsi over Coca Cola. I also don't shop at Costco though :)
