Alaskan Jack's Brings Consumers Flavorful Salmon
January 1, 2018
Alaskan Jack's, a brand created by Yihe Corp., is poised to change the way consumers taste their salmon with a line of marinades and dry rub seasonings. All Alaskan Jack’s products focus on clean ingredient statements and wild-caught seafood that is native to the waters of the Pacific Northwest. "Yihe is bringing creativity and fusion flavorings to drive salmon consumption and repeat purchases," says Steven Chen, Yihe's president and CEO. "Consumers are seeking ways to add more innovative flavors to their food, and the Alaskan Jack's line delivers with a wide variety of delicious flavor offerings." Alaskan Jack's Dry Rub flavors include: Blackened Heat (black and red pepper for a fiery, robust blend), Citrus Pepper (lemon and black pepper blend), Louisiana Style (onion, garlic, red pepper and other spices for a robust Cajun flavor) and Tuscan Garden (lemon, red bell pepper, tomato, brown sugar and Tuscan spices). Marinades come in the following varieties: Honey Teriyaki with Toasted Sesame (honey-sweetened teriyaki with toasted sesame seeds), Lime Chipotle (lime with mild chipotle peppers), Sweet Chili ( sweet marinade with a zest of crushed red pepper) and Sweet-Spicy Asian BBQ (two contrasting flavors offer just the right amount of sweetness and spice). "Alaska Jack's brings fusion cuisine to the table so consumers can enjoy an entirely new menu of salmon selections," says Chen. "The marinades penetrate the salmon, providing a mild flavor throughout the entire filet while the rubs offer a burst of taste on the outside of the fish. The flavor combinations, individual packaging and product quality will make Alaskan Jack's one of the most exciting new seafood products of the year." Alaskan Jack's features two individually wrapped six-ounce Keta salmon (Chum) filets in each package. Yihe will introduce the Alaskan Jack's brand at the Seafood Expo North America in Boston on March 15-17. The Alaskan Jack's brand is the latest innovation announced by Yihe who also recently launched the Ocean Eclipse Fusion product line packaged in a 1.5-lb. resealable bag. In another bold move to increase frozen seafood consumption, Yihe just rolled out the Ocean Select "Pick 5 - Mix and Match" program. This 10-SKU seafood solution complements popular "Pick 5" programs that have traditionally been focused on beef and chicken products. "We are delivering on our commitment to grow the salmon business," says Chen. "We've had a year filled with many exciting product offerings that will enable us to remain at the forefront of category innovation. The great news is that we're just getting started."
