Balance Foods Launches Line of "Smart Snacks"

Balance Foods is launching a line of healthier, better-for-you snacks to serve millions of elementary and high school students across the country. The nine new school-approved snacks meet USDA’s Smart Snacks in Schools nutritional dietary standards for snack foods sold on campuses after July 1, 2014. Balance Foods snacks are made with whole grain, lower calories, less sodium and sugar. In addition, the company ensures that its snacks also contained no cholesterol, no trans fat, no MSG, gluten-free, nut-free and is Kosher certified. The new snack lines include:

  • Baked Classics in three varieties: Vanilla Frosting, Mesquite BBQ Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper, all sold in 1-ounce packages.

  • California Classics in two varieties: Cheese Balls and Hot & Crunchy Cheese Balls, sold in 1.5- and .75-ounce packages.

  • Poptillas in two varieties: Nacho Cheese and Chili Lime, sold in 1-ounce packages.
