1 Min Read

Beaverton Foods, Inc. has won six total awards and two Gold Medals, at the 18th annual “World-Wide Mustard Competition” held at the National Mustard Museum in Middleton, Wisconsin in April. Nearly 300 mustard entries entered the competition, which honors mustards from all around the globe in 18 categories. The condiment manufacturer's mustard medal winners include Gold, Horseradish-Wasabi, Inglehoffer Wasabi Horseradish Mustard and Classic Hot, Beaver Hot Chinese Mustard; Silver, Exotic, Beaver Hickory Bacon Mustard; and Bronze, Pepper Hot, Beaver Jalapeno Mustard, Garlic, Beaver Garlic Dijon Mustard, and Organic, Inglehoffer Organic Honey Mustard. Domonic Biggi, CEO of Beaverton Foods, said the family owned and operated company is proud to be a long-time participant in the museum’s mustard competition. “It is a great honor to receive such high praise of our products from these culinary experts. The Beaver Chinese Extra Hot Mustard has been a consistent award winner since it was launched by my father, Gene Biggi, in 1958.” National Mustard Museum Curator Barry Levenson added: “Beaverton Foods led all mustard makers – as it has done several times in the past – with six medals.” The competition is open to all commercial mustard makers and it is “blind” so judges do not know the makers of the mustards they taste. In each of the 18 categories, competing mustards earn gold, silver and bronze awards. The distinguished panel of judges consisted of food writers, chefs and other industry professionals.
