Brio offers an ice cream alternative that packs the same creamy deliciousness as the most premium ice creams, say company officials, but at the same time it significantly reduces the calories, fat, cholesterol and sugar that most top-tier frozen desserts are loaded with.

Brio represents an upgrade in ice cream thanks to its many additional nutritional benefits, officials add. They include six grams of protein per serving, balanced Omega 3-6-9s, prebiotic fiber, a rich complement of calcium, magnesium and vitamin D, plus a powerful boost of antioxidants like vitamin A, C and E as well as selenium, with 24 vitamins and minerals in all.

According to the International Dairy Foods Association, “The average American consumes almost 22 pounds of ice cream per year.” Of this figure, “Premium ice cream, which tends to have lower amount of aeration and higher fat content than regular ice cream, is the most popular product with consumers.”

Brio expands the eating occasions for ice cream, taking it from an infrequent luxury, or worse a guilt-ridden pleasure, to a healthy aspect of consumers’ regular diet, officials add. Brio is a healthy, nutrient-rich food that provides a nutritious way to satisfy cravings for chocolate, coffee or just something rich and creamy. Officials say that containing just 160–170 calories, Brio ice cream has half the fat, 65 percent less cholesterol and 10 perecnt less sugar than similar flavors of super premium ice cream. Each four fluid-ounce serving contains only 17 to 19 grams of sugar, less than many fruit-flavored yogurts.

Brio is also significantly lower on the glycemic index than its competition. The flavors in which it is available include vanilla caramel, tropical mango, spring strawberry, mellow dark chocolate and coffee latte.
