Farm Fresh Adds VP Position
sh here has appointed Dale Faunce to the new position of vice president of perishables.
Faunce is responsible for sales and marketing of meat, deli, seafood and meal solutions for all Farm Fresh operating divisions. Previously, he was vice president of meat and seafood marketing, having joined the company as director of meat and seafood in 1993.
He reports to Steve Harmon, senior vice president of merchandising.
Michael Johannsen has been named to Faunce's former position, which will now be known as director of meat merchandising. Johannsen, who was director of meat/deli/bakery for Farm Fresh's discount Rack and Sack division, now manages meat operations for both Farm Fresh and Rack and Sack divisions.
George Weaver, a meat buyer and merchandiser, takes over for Johannsen as meat marketing manager of the Rack and Sack division.
Harris Teeter Names Persinger
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Gary Persinger has been named vice president of perishables merchandising for Harris Teeter, based here.
In this new position, he reports to Joe George, senior vice president of merchandising. Persinger had been director of meat.
Sargento Appoints Category Manager
PLYMOUTH, Wis. -- Sargento here has named Mark Gumm category manager of ingredients.
Gumm was product manager at Hormel Foods, Austin, Minn., where he managed the breakfast meats category. He succeeds Carol Christiensen, who has been named marketing communications manager.
Simultaneously, the company appointed Amy Poeppelman to the new position of assistant product manager of ingredients. She had been a marketing research assistant for Andrew Jergens Co. in Cincinnati.
Both Gumm and Poeppelman report to Dorothy Farrell, senior category manager of ingredients.
Riglian Joins Stonyfield as VP
LONDONDERRY, N.H. -- Walter M. Riglian Jr. has been appointed vice president of supermarket sales for Stonyfield Farm, based here.
In this new position, Riglian reports to Gary Hirshberg, Stonyfield's president and chief executive officer Riglian has spent 15 years in food sales and management with companies such as Kraft, General Foods, Frito-Lay and Keebler.
