Nathan's Famous is celebrating its 100th year this summer, and Inventure Foods is joining in the celebration with the expansion of its licensed line of Nathan's snacks, including a new potato chip flavored like Nathan's most iconic hot dog, complete with the taste of ketchup, mustard and relish.

Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Potato Chips snack will be available in 1.25-ounce bags sold in vending machines as well as 4-ounce bags sold in select grocery and convenience stores nationwide beginning this month. The suggested retail price is $1 and $1.99 per package, respectively.

The classic Hot Dog Potato Chips pack a flavorful punch that is remarkably accurate in its replication of the quintessential dog, say company officials. The chips are just 150 calories per serving, are gluten-free and have zero trans fats.

"We are in the midst of celebrating Nathan's Famous' 100th anniversary, and there is no better way to celebrate than with a snack that captures exactly what they are known for around the world," says Steve Sklar, senior vice president and general manager for Inventure Foods. "This snack is sure to be a favorite among not only Nathan's Famous hot dog fans but also the general consumer looking for great American flavor in their potato chip—at an upcoming baseball game or backyard BBQ."

To help fans celebrate from their home, around a campfire or at their next backyard BBQ, Nathan's Famous is giving away hundreds of free bags of Hot Dog Potato Chips on their Facebook page.

Inventure Foods manufactures the Nathan's Famous snacks under a licensing agreement with Nathan's Famous, which commenced in the fourth quarter of 2011. Inventure Foods has translated popular restaurant menu items into ready-to-eat snacks, including TGI Friday's snacks, Vidalia Brands snacks and better-for-you offerings like Jamba "at home" smoothie kits.

Nathan's Famous began as an American dream for Polish immigrant Nathan Handwerker when he opened a single hot dog stand in Coney Island, Brooklyn in 1916. Nathan's Famous products are sold in all 50 states and nine foreign countries, reaching millions of customers through its restaurant franchise, food service channels and packaged products.
