Magnolia Ice Cream Launches Flavor for Facebook Fans

Magnolia Ice Cream has added a flavor to its line of tropical ice cream: Kona Coffee Chocodamia Nut. Retailers can check it out at the 2015 Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, Calif. Magnolia knows the flavor is the pick-me-up fans have been craving, because the flavor was selected by social media fan vote. Kona Coffee Chocodamia Nut beat out Jackfruit and Tropical Banana in Magnolia Ice Cream’s “Discover Our Next Flavor” Facebook contest. Kona Coffee Chocodamia Nut is an ultra-premium ice cream infused with cold brewed Kona coffee from Hawaii. The flavor was modeled off Magnolia Ice Cream’s popular Thai Tea Ice Cream, and it is the first of Magnolia’s line to include traditional ice cream ingredients - chocolate and nuts. Magnolia is known for its far-out flavors, like Avocado, Purple Yam, Halo Halo and Red Bean, which are not traditional in the U.S. but common in the tropical islands of the South Pacific. “Our Magnolia Ice Cream fans on social media are the most active and engaged fans of any of our brands,” says PJ Quesada, vice president of Ramar Foods. “They send us photos of their ice cream cones at events, they share how they are enjoying Magnolia when celebrating a family birthday, they even post Magnolia Ice Cream selfies on Instagram! We are really thankful for our Magnolia community and appreciate their feedback. We thought it would be great fun to give them ownership over what new flavor should be.” Magnolia Ice Cream is all-natural, made from California pasture-raised premium dairy milk without the use of any synthetic hormones, and uses traditional tropical recipes with up to 30% fresh fruit puree from exotic fruits that are farmed in the tropical islands of Southeast Asia. It is gluten free, Kosher certified and has a suggester retail price of $4.49 for a pint. Other Magnolia Ice Cream flavors include Coconut, Lychee, Purple Yam, Avocado, Thai Tea, Guava and Mango. In addition to Magnolia Ice Cream, Ramar Foods also produces a delicious range of all-natural single serve novelty milkbars which flavors feature: Azuki Red Bean, Halo Halo, Purple Yam & Red Bean, Coconut, Mango and Calamansi Icepops.
