Named for our paleolithic ancestors who wandered the earth 10,000 years ago, the paleo diet has taken hold of consumers all these years later. Inspired by the ancient diets of these people, this lifestyle is free of refined sugars, dairy and grains while focusing heavily on meats.
This diet is possible for those following a vegetarian diet as evidenced by some of the following items which are all meat-free. Current estimates classify 1% of the population of America as paleo but the market share is there, $300 million in 2018 to be precise, according to Nutrition Business Journal. Though there are more vegans roaming the world in 2019, the diet of those who lived without most of the foods we enjoy today is gaining popularity.
