The Burger Battle Rages On

The Battle of the Burger will also take place in Long Island, Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago, and the Amstel Light Burger Bash will take place at the 2014 South Beavch Wine & Food Festival in Miami. The NYC-based event was attended by 700 people at the Hudson Common in the Hudson Hotel. A total of 8,500 sliders/tasting portions we served amongst the 12 restaurants. Attendees weighed in on the best patty and enjoyed Amstel Light, the “Official Beer of the Burger,” say officials. The winner was the Maialino Late Night Burger from Maialino restaurant. The burger was made with Pat Lafrieda Beef, and included house-made Pancetta, Gorgonzola, Rosemary and a Brioche bun. The runner ups (in order) were Jeepney's Chori Burger, which included Angus Beef n Sweet Cured Pork Longanis with Banana Ketchup, Atchara (Pickled Carrots, Cucumber, and Jicama); and the Hudson Common's Common Burger made with a Brioche bun, custom-ground beef blend, Common Sauce, Velveeta and Cheese Pickles.
