Another prime driving factor is rising medical cost which is forcing people to switch to dairy based beverages due to expenses of medicines and its side effects. 

Dairy based beverages have segmentation based on probiotic and nonprobiotic dairy based beverages with added bioactive components and also the functional dairy beverages with added minerals and vitamins. Omega 3 fatty acids reduces risk for cardiovascular diseases and certain cancers. Omega 3 fatty acids is the important ingredient and cannot be easily formulized but can be added to the milk products, the fishy taste needs to be disguised. It has a growing market due to its benefits.

North America is the largest market dominated by the U.S whose demand is growing due to its health conscious consumers, according to the report.
