Colorado Premium Foods, a beef processor serving retailers, restaurant chains and private labels around the world, has acquired the assets of Miami-based National Deli, a branded deli meat company.

National Deli, originally founded in 1982 as the non-kosher division of Hebrew National, has built a reputation for high-quality raw and cooked meats, including corned beef, roast beef, pastrami, prime rib, and hot dogs.

“National Deli’s product line is a natural extension of our core business,” says Colorado Premium president Kevin LaFleur. “The company is a recognized brand, especially along the eastern seaboard of the United States, serving a wide range of restaurants, traditional delis, pubs, casinos and country clubs."

“National Deli has an immensely talented management team and staff,” LaFleur adds. “They have a commitment to quality assurance and a standard of excellence that matches our own. I’m especially pleased to say that the management team and National Deli’s employees will stay in place and will continue to operate from the company’s operations and distribution center in Miami.”

“The entire National Deli management team is excited about the synergies and expertise that Colorado Premium brings to the business as we continue our mission of bringing the finest quality raw and cooked deli meats to our customers. Our focus will be to continue and improve upon the level of product quality, product choice, and customer service that our customers have come to know and trust,” says Jehan Saulnier, who joined National Deli in 2014 as president and CEO.

This is Colorado Premium’s second major acquisition in the past two years. In July 2014, the company acquired Buedel Fine Meats & Provisions, and Vlcek Fine Meats, both based in Bridgeview, Ill. The acquired companies, unified under the Buedel Fine Meats & Provisions brand name, continue to operate from Bridgeview. Buedel is a leading international distributor of meats and poultry, serving fine restaurants, hotels, casinos and country clubs.
