D, Calif. -- Teen angst hits new heights for the back-to-school season this year. Paramount Home Entertainment here will release a special-edition DVD of "Mean Girls," starring Lindsay Lohan and Tina Fey, supported by a national advertising campaign. The campaign includes television advertising, print advertising in popular teen magazines, radio promotions, mall-based outdoor marketing during the back-to-school shopping period, and online advertisements. The pre-book date for the release is Aug. 10. The DVD streets on Sept. 21 with a suggested retail price of $19.95.

Scooby, Boo!

BURBANK, Calif. -- Scooby snacks could be the treat of choice this Halloween when Warner Home Video here releases "What's New Scooby-Doo? Volume 3: Halloween Boos and Clues" on Aug. 10 supported by a national Halloween marketing campaign. The promotion features a $10 mail-in rebate on specially marked packages of Scooby-Doo DVDs of the cartoon show. Exclusive content, screensavers and online games will be accessible on targeted Web sites, including AOL, Nickelodeon, cartoonnetwork.com and parenting.com. Scooby-Doo trailers will also be included on other Warner titles released in the summer and fall.

Dancers Delight

DALLAS -- Angelina Ballerina pirouettes into stores with a new title this summer. "The Magic of Dance" arrives on shelves Aug. 24 accompanied by an on-pack tiara and collectible poster. The tiara will be a "girl-sized" version of Angelina's own. The poster features instructions for dance steps. Subsequent Angelina releases will come with other on-packs to complete a dancer costume. The title contains four animated episodes and two live-action segments. "The Magic of Dance" comes with a suggested retail price of $12.99 for VHS and $16.99 for DVD.
