Allegiance Adds Category Managers

ISELIN, N.J. — Allegiance Retail Services on Friday said Vincent Villone and Steve Felber have been named category manager at the company, which supports the Foodtown cooperative and other stores in the Northeast region.

ISELIN, N.J. — Allegiance Retail Services on Friday said Vincent Villone and Steve Felber have been named category manager at the company, which supports the Foodtown cooperative and other stores in the Northeast region.

Foodtown veteran Villone joined Allegiance as category manager – produce. He most recently was produce/floral supervisor for the Norkus Group, which owned seven Foodtown stores.

Felber was promoted to category manager – dairy at Allegiance. He joined Allegiance in 2011 as field merchandiser – dairy/frozen, where he supported member stores. Prior to Allegiance, Felber worked for Acme Markets as an assistant store director and later fresh market perishables director. In 2009, he moved to Fine Fare in Jersey City, N.J., as a store manager.

Allegiance was formed last year to leverage the buying power of the Foodtown co-op and provide other services to independent retailers. Its members include Larchmont, N.Y.-based D'Agostino's.
