C&S Wholesale Grocers has named Mike Duffy its chief executive officer, effective Jan. 8, 2018. The company said Duffy will assume leadership responsibility for the wholesaler’s strategic, customer satisfaction and day-to-day operations.
Duffy was the president of global manufacturing and supply chain at Cardinal Health. He has also worked for the Gillette Co. and P&G, following its acquisition of Gillette.
C&S says the appointment of Duffy (left) will allow current CEO Rick Cohen the ability to focus on his role of executive chairman of the board, leading the company’s growth and innovation strategy.
“I have full confidence in Mike’s ability to lead C&S’s continued journey as the leading supply chain company in the food industry,” Cohen said. “He brings with him world class leadership and commercial skills and is an experienced operator with supply chain capabilities in procurement, warehouse management, logistics, and distribution. I look forward to working closely with him, as we continue to provide exceptional service to our customers and valuable career opportunities to our employees.”
C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc., based in Keene, N.H., is the largest wholesale grocery supply company in the U.S. Founded in 1918 as a supplier to independent grocery stores, C&S now services customers of all sizes, supplying more than 14,000 independent supermarkets, chain stores, military bases and institutions.
