Costco Names Jelinek President; Sinegal Still CEO

ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Costco Wholesale Corp. here said yesterday it has appointed Craig Jelinek as president and chief operating officer. Jim Sinegal will give up the president title but continue as chief executive officer.

ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Costco Wholesale Corp. here said yesterday it has appointed Craig Jelinek as president and chief operating officer. Jim Sinegal will give up the president title but continue as chief executive officer.

The company said it will form an office of the president that will include four executives who will coordinate major company matters: Sinegal; Jelinek; Jeff Brotman, chairman; and Dick DiCerchio, senior executive vice president.

Jelinek, who has been with Costco for more than 25 years, mostly in various management positions in warehouse operations, was previously executive vice president, merchandising.
