Fareway Stores promotes Garrett Piklapp to president
Mike McCormick promoted to chief retail officer, Jake Moran named CFO
Midwestern grocer Fareway Stores is reorganizing its leadership team, with the promotions of Garrett S. Piklapp to president and Michael J. "Mike" McCormick to chief retail officer, effective immediately.
Piklapp has served at Fareway for 13 years, most recently as executive vice president/secretary/general counsel. McCormick, a 24-year veteran of Fareway, was most recently executive vice president of merchandising.
In addition, Jacob W. "Jake" Moran joins the team as chief financial officer, replacing the retiring Craig A. Shepley effective Oct. 31, 2021. Shepley is leaving Fareway after 36 years of service. Moran joined the retailer in April of this year as senior vice president finance and accounting.

Family-owned Fareway Stores operates 129 grocery stores in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota. The company is headquartered in Boone, Iowa.
