$31M Sam’s Club distribution center in Jacksonville, Florida, is in the works

The city of Jacksonville, Fla., is reviewing a permit for a Sam’s Club distribution center which will cost close to $31 million, reports a local affiliate

A memo from the city shows the distribution center will be created from an existing warehouse that spans over 1 million square feet on 63 acres of land. 

The first phase of improvements to the warehouse, located near Imeson Park South in North Jacksonville, is currently under permit review. 

The architect for the project is Harrison French and Associates located in Bentonville, Ark., which is the home base of Sam’s Club parent company Walmart. 

The Imeson Park South property is 214 acres and is located south of VanTrust’s 146-acre Imeson Park. Imeson Park has a 1 million-square-foot Amazon fulfillment center.
