Asian grocer 99 Ranch Market has entered its 11th state with the opening of a store in Westbury, N.Y.

Buena Park, Calif.-based 99 Ranch held a grand opening for the 45,602-square-foot store on April 9 to fanfare at the new Samanea New York shopping center in the suburbs of New York’s Long Island. The second-largest anchor tenant in the center, after Dave & Buster’s, the specialty supermarket occupies the space of a former Circuit City store.

“We are looking forward to catering to the local and Asian Long Island communities by providing the highest-quality and freshest merchandise at an affordable price,” 99 Ranch said in a statement. “To Asian Americans residing on Long Island, we are their home away from home. To all other ethnic groups, we are the link for you to experience and learn about Asian cultures.”

Inside New York’s first 99 Ranch Market, located at 1500 Old Country Rd. in Westbury, are more than 10,000 items from around the world, including unique Asian dry groceries, produce, premium meat and poultry, seafood, deli items and baked goods. Featured Chinese cuisine includes dim sum, barbecue, noodles, cakes and confections. Also upcoming is an “Eat Up” food court in which other new tenants offering Asian food will join 99 Ranch on the property.

“We are excited to welcome 99 Ranch to Samanea NY and couldn’t be more thrilled that this nationally recognized, authentic food market chose us as its first location to the New York market, which complements Samanea NY’s restaurant row on Old Country Road and contributes to the property’s unique tenant roster,” commented Dominic Coluccio, chief leasing and development officer for Samanea New York. “Welcoming 99 Ranch to Samanea NY would not be possible without our talented team and our focus to transform this iconic site into a unique lifestyle destination.”

The 13-month construction project for 99 Ranch began in January 2021, and the store marked the second anchor tenant to open its doors on the property in over 20 years, following a Bloomingdale’s Furniture Outlet that opened in September 2020. Other Samanea New York tenants include The Cheesecake Factory, Fortunoff Backyard Store, Empire Adventure Park, The Gravity Vault, Leonardo Furniture, X-Golf, MyPlanet Living Center, Arteco Cabinetry, Let’s Craft, K-Pot Korean BBQ, Szechuan Restaurant, MoCA Asian Bistro, Frank & Camille’s West Pianos and Leon Banilivi Rugs.

Overall, 99 Ranch Market operates 56 stores in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts.
