Bashas’ calls on customers to join in 90th anniversary celebration
Arizonans invited to get nostalgic and share their memories of the supermarket chain online
As Bashas’ prepares to celebrate 90 years in business this year, the Arizona grocery retailer is inviting customers across the state to look back and share the sights, sounds, tastes and experiences that have become part of their memories.
From now to April 30, 2022, Arizonans can share their Bashas’ memories by visiting Bashas.com/bashas_love/ or by scanning a special QR code and sharing their stories, photos and videos depicting how Bashas’ has played an important role in their lives.
“From a small market in Chandler, Ariz., to now more than 50 supermarkets across the state, Bashas’ has created a living legacy around family dinner tables and in communities across nearly 114,000 square miles of Arizona,” said Ashley Shick, Bashas’ director of communications and public Affairs. “Through the sharing of stories and experiences, we hope to pay tribute to Bashas’ incredible history and celebrate its impact for generations to come.”
Bashas’ will share the stories and memories that it collects during the third quarter of this year, when its anniversary festivities kick into full swing. Bashas’ plans to feature the stories on its website, social media platforms and in its weekly ad from July through September.
During this same time, the grocer will serve up special promotions at its more than 50 supermarkets across the state. Customers can expect to see special price promotions and offers, enhanced community support efforts, and a few extra fun surprises throughout the summer.
Bashas’ is a division of Bashas' Family of Stores, the family-owned grocer that operates more than 100 stores including Bashas’, Food City, AJ's Fine Foods, Eddie's Country Store and Bashas' Diné supermarkets. In December, the company was acquired by California-based The Raley’s Companies.
Bashas' newly remodeled store in Kingman, Ariz., includes an expanded Starbucks, with a large seating area, which will serve hot breakfast sandwiches for customers on the go.
Bashas’ also recently held a grand reopening of its store in Kingman, Ariz., known as “The Heart of Historic Route 66” because the longest remaining preserved stretch of the famous all-American road, Route 66, runs through downtown. The newly remodeled store, originally opened in 1980, will have a host of expanded offerings, including an expanded Starbucks, with a large seating area, which will serve hot breakfast sandwiches for customers on the go; a new seating area in the Bakery with where customers can enjoy made-from-scratch donuts from the new self-serve donut case; more farm-fresh options than ever before in an expanded Produce Department, with a new bulk foods section, an expanded salad section and spice wall; and a newly added Floral Department.
