The Grocery Outlet Bargain Market will open the doors to its first “extreme value” location in Las Vegas, Nev., offering all food products available at regular grocery stores including beer, wine, and health products, reports local news outlet Las Vegas Review-Journal

“Grocery Outlet is able to achieve our competitive affordable prices through the efforts of our buyers who shop for brand-name groceries opportunistically through packaging changes, surplus inventory, product overruns, etc.,” said Ernesto and Dana Sesma, the independent operators of the Las Vegas location, in an emailed statement to the Review-Journal.

The new Las Vegas location will be the 450th store for the Calif.-based Grocery Outlet. This is the first location in Southern Nevada, however, there are a total of 11 locations in the state scattered throughout the north.

The operators of the Las Vegas store view the location “as a way to serve people looking to save money on groceries and address food insecurity in Southern Nevada.”

Grocery Outlet’s second quarter results came in ahead of expectations, driven by strong same-store sales growth and gross margin expansion. It reported net sales growth of 12.5% to $1.01 billion. Grocery Outlet opened four new stores and closed one, ending the quarter with 447 stores in eight states.

“Our differentiated model and compelling value proposition are resonating with both new and existing customers, and our performance is being driven by strong transaction growth," said RJ Sheedy, CEO of Grocery Outlet.
