LAS VEGAS — IGA handed out four awards of excellence at the closing banquet of its Global Rally here Monday evening to two wholesalers, a retailer and a supplier.

Bozzuto's, Cheshire, Conn., received the President's Cup Award as USA Licensed Distribution Center of the Year, and IGA Distribution of Queensland (Australia), a division of Metcash, received the President's Cup Award as the Global Licensed Distribution Center of the Year — each for demonstrating leadership and innovation in advancing the IGA brand.

Kraft Foods was given the Outstanding Brand Development Award; and Scott and Rena Carlin, owners of three IGA stores in Maine, were given the Red Oval Partner of the Year Award for their contribution to IGA brand development — an honor presented only occasionally, at the discretion of IGA.

The dinner also included the formal presentation of the International Retailer of the Year Awards, as previously announced, to Dennis and Ruth Darling, Foods Etc. IGA, Clearlake, Calif.; Guy LaPerle, LaPerle's IGA Plus, Colebrook, N.H.; Michael and Rosemary Lorenz, from Michael's Supa IGA in Victoria, Australia; Brooks and Tammy Marsh, from Mahomet IGA, Mahomet, Ill.; and Shiquan Shen and Su Xi, from Xiya Homay Commercial Co. — the first winners ever from China.
