Marsh wholesaler switch leads to 186 C&S layoffs

In the wake of Marsh Supermarkets' forthcoming switch of wholesalers, current supplier C&S Wholesale Grocers is laying off 186 Indianapolis area workers.

C&S informed state authorities last week that its Indianapolis Haulage and Indianapolis Logistics businesses would lay off the workers by Sept. 29. Indianapolis-based Marsh earlier this month said it had agreed to a new long-term supply agreement with Supervalu.
