MINNEAPOLIS — Nash Finch Co. here said Thursday it has named Kevin Elliot executive vice president of the company, and president and chief operating officer of Nash Finch Wholesale/Retail, effective this past Monday.

Elliot, 46, apparently succeeds Christopher Brown, who had been president and chief operating officer of the wholesale division, but has left from that position, effective last week, Nash Finch said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Nash Finch said in the filing that Brown would remain with the company in a transitional role through Jan. 3.

Elliot most recently had been senior vice president of merchandising, logistics and marketing at Dallas-based 7-Eleven, where he worked from 2001 to 2010. He was responsible for overseeing the corporate store and franchise operations as well as 7-Eleven’s national distribution network, comprised of 26 distribution centers.
