Recalled Trader Joe’s products increase to six

Food recalls have become all too common for Trader Joe’s, as the retailer announced its sixth product recall since July, reports CNN Business.

Texas Tamale Company Gourmet Black Bean Tamales were recalled because there is a possibility they contain milk allergens, Trader Joe’s said. The tamales were sold in nine states and about 1,700 packages were delivered to stores.

Trader Joe’s said all products involved in the recall have been removed and no illnesses have been reported.

The Food and Drug Administration ordered the recall after a complaint from a consumer saying the product contained dairy, but that the ingredient was not listed on the packaging.

In late July, Trader Joe’s announced the first of six recalls when rocks were found in the packaging of two types of cookies. Rocks also were found in a Trader Joe’s brand of falafel, and the retailer’s broccoli cheddar soup was found to contain bugs. Both products were recalled.

Trader Joe’s blamed the three recalls on an issue with the manufacturing process at the facilities.

Last week, multigrain crackers were pulled when it was discovered that some packages contained metal.
