Shopping just got a little easier for Big Y customers. The Springfield, Mass.-based supermarket chain now offers online same day order and pick up to a number of select stores.

As the holiday season is now in full swing, Big Y, one of New England’s largest independently owned supermarket chains, sees this as another win for the company’s e-commerce platform.

“I am particularly excited about the implementation of same-day order and pick up,” said Christian P. D’Amour, Big Y’s director of e-commerce. “As the holidays are near and our schedules become busier, having the added flexibility to put your order in and pick up on the same day will help save time and alleviate stress.”

Big Y customers can now place orders online up until 10 a.m. for pick up later that same afternoon. Online Ordering is available in the following Big Y locations: Chicopee, East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, Ludlow, South Hadley, Cooley St. Springfield, Big Y at Fresh Acres, Westfield, Westfield Shops, West Springfield and Wilbraham.

Big Y Foods, Inc. also announced this week the opening of their 13th Big Y Express Fuel and Convenience location at 138 North King St., Northampton, Mass., adjacent to Big Y’s World Class Market.

Big Y has been a part of the Northampton Community since opening their supermarket in 1960 and the company says it sees this as another way to provide quick service for its customers.

“We are always looking to bring our customers even more, especially during this challenging year,” said Big Y President and CEO, Charles L. D’Amour. “We are excited to not only help our customers save on their fueling needs but also make life easier by offering quick convenience items that our customers can grab on the run.”
