BJ’s newest club opens Friday in Virginia

BJ’s Wholesale Club will open its 14th location in Virginia on Friday, bringing the Marlborough, Massachusetts-based club’s count to 235 stores across 18 states, BJ’s said Wednesday.

The 105,000-square-foot club will be located in Midlothian at 12201 Bridgewood Crossing Drive and include a BJ's Gas location on-site.

“The grand opening of our new club has been much anticipated, and we are very much looking forward to opening our doors to the Midlothian community on Friday,” said Contina McNeill, club manager of Midlothian’s BJ’s Wholesale Club, in a statement. 

The new location features grocery essentials including a full-service deli, household items, pet supplies and the retailer’s signature “treasure-hunt experience” for shoppers as well as a selection of local products.

As part of its grand opening, BJ’s is offering through Thursday a founding member offer for local shoppers interested in joining the club. Local shoppers can sign up for a one-year BJ’s Inner Circle membership for $25 or a one-year BJ’s Perks Rewards membership for $65.

As part of its support for the local community, BJ’s Charitable Foundation through its Feeding Communities program has partnered with Midlothian’s foodbank Feed More.

“We are so excited to have BJ’s Wholesale Club as part of our community, just in time for the holiday season,” said Aaron McClung, chief development officer at Feed More, in a statement. “During this time of year, it is especially important to make sure that our neighbors in need have access to the basics, like quality food. With partners like BJ’s, we can ensure that this is possible and are thankful to continue developing our partnership with the organization.”

BJ’s store expansion for 2022 also happened in other states as well, including New York, Ohio and Indiana.
