Cardenas Markets opens new store in Banning, California

Cardenas Markets opened a new store last week at 3317 W. Ramsey Street in Banning, California.

It is Cardenas Markets’ first store to serve the Gorgonio Pass area. The location previously operated under the company’s Rio Ranch Market banner.

“We are committed to bringing our exceptional variety of fresh and authentic Hispanic offerings, in addition to traditional grocery staples, to Banning residents,” said Adam Salgado, chief marketing officer for Cardenas Markets, in a statement. “Customers will find amazing values in a convenient, fun and festive environment.”

The new store will include a produce department that has seasonal fruits and vegetables from the U.S. and Latin America, as well as a full-service meat department that offers fresh-cut beef, pork and chicken cut daily, as well as a selection of seafood.

Additionally, the new location has a Mexican Cocina where Cardenas’ carnitas, tamales and taquería are available. The tortilleria features corn tortillas made using the traditional nixtamal technique, and customers can also find flour tortillas and masa made from scratch. Cardenas’ bakery has specialty pastries, desserts, cakes, pan dulce and bolillos baked fresh daily.

Cardenas Markets is headquartered in Ontario, California, and is one of the largest Hispanic grocery chains in the country, with 65 stores in California, Nevada and Arizona under several banners. The company operates a total of 52 stores under the Cardenas Markets banner. Last week, Cardenas Markets announced it will offer two-hour, same-day grocery delivery via Amazon, adding to its existing delivery providers.
