Cardenas Markets Promotes Darla Sebastian to VP of Special Projects

Cardenas Markets has promoted Darla Sebastian to VP of special projects, with responsibility for driving, facilitating and overseeing the implementation of key strategic endeavors and priority initiatives.
Sebastian joined Cardenas Markets in 2019 as director of business process enablement—a position she held until her promotion, according to a LinkedIn page—bring with her more than 20 years of experience in retail management with a focus on e-commerce, supply chain, finance operations and store systems. In her new role, she will report directly to Chief Operating Officer Prabash Coswatte.
“Darla brings extensive project management and retail experience to her new position,” Coswatte said. “She is a strong and highly accomplished leader who has a reputation for transforming strategic vision into reality, and in her new role I am confident she will continue to play a vital role in enhancing current business operations while providing concrete solutions that will guide and bring future endeavors to fruition.”

Prior to joining the Ontario, Calif.-based Hispanic grocery chain, Sebastian, a certified project management professional, was director of IT for online electronics retailer Monoprice. Sebastian also worked as a senior project manager consultant for Smart Code LLC. She also was senior delivery manager and senior project manager for discounter 99 Cents Only Stores, according to a LinkedIn page.
Cardenas Markets operates 52 stores under the Cardenas banner and seven stores under the Cardenas Ranch Markets banner, with locations in California, Nevada and Arizona.
