Dollar Tree, which just weeks ago announced a major C-suite shakeup, has filled one of those open leadership posts, the discounter announced Thursday.

Bobby Aflatooni is the Chesapeake, Va.-based chain’s new chief information officer, replacing CIO Andy Paisley, who exited the company late last month along with Dollar Tree’s chief legal officer, COO and chief strategy officer.

Amid the many executive changes, Dollar Tree also announced Thursday that it would reschedule its previously announced investor day from October to sometime next spring.

Aflatooni spent nine years at discount rival Dollar General, according to his LinkedIn profile. He most recently served as executive vice president and CIO for The Howard Hughes Corp. and was responsible for leading all IT strategies across the company’s portfolio.

He also worked at Pizza Hut as IT director.

“Bobby is a proven leader with a strong track record of delivering results and leading multiple system transformations,” Dollar Tree President and CEO Mike Witynski said in a statement. “The technology investments we will make over the next several years will be critical to our success as we enable our people, simplify work streams and accelerate our growth.”

Witnyski said Aflatooni’s hire will be the first of many executive appointments to come “as we scale our leadership team to accelerate the growth and transformation of our company.”

Aflatooni said that at Dollar Tree, he would focus on boosting the 16,162-unit retailer’s systems infrastructure to help store-level workers, merchandising, marketing and supply chain.

“Having worked with and supported a number of leaders at Dollar Tree in previous roles will enable us to hit the ground running,” he said in a statement.

Aflatooni is not the first former Dollar General executive to take a leadership role with Dollar Tree.

In March, Dollar Tree announced a “reconstituted board” with Rick Dreiling, a former Dollar General CEO, installed as executive chairman.

In May, the chain named two more former Dollar General leaders to top posts, with John Flanigan, previously EVP of global supply chain for Dollar General, added as chief supply chain officer, and Larry Gatta, formerly SVP and general merchandise manager for consumables at Dollar General, named chief merchandising officer for Family Dollar, a Dollar Tree banner.
