DoorDash and The Raley’s Companies announce new partnership

DoorDash on Friday announced a new partnership with The Raley’s Companies, expanding same-day grocery delivery to more than 117 Raley’s stores across Northern California and Nevada, and over 91 Bashas’ stores throughout Arizona.

Grocery orders can be placed on-demand from local Raley’s and Bashas’ stores using the DoorDash marketplace app or website. Customers can use DoorDash at Raley’s, Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods, Raley’s O-N-E Market, Bashas’, Food City and AJ’s Fine Foods stores. 

This partnership signifies DoorDash’s continuing commitment to provide consumers with an experience focused on selection, value and convenience, DoorDash said in a press release.

Raley’s customers tend to place the most orders between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Bashas' orders surge between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., DoorDash data shows. The most popular days of the week that Raley’s and Bashas’ shoppers order groceries are Sundays and Saturdays.

This suggests that consumers are using DoorDash to skip the weekend grocery shopping trips, saving time on parking and waiting in long checkout lines, DoorDash noted. This also suggests that consumers are using DoorDash as they’re cooking dinner, and are in need of fresh ingredients for their nightly meals.

Fruits and vegetables are the most-ordered grocery items at Raley’s, with limes and cucumbers as the top-selling products.

At Bashas', the most-ordered grocery items are fruits, with bananas and limes topping the shopping lists.

As consumers’ expectations for convenience rise, DoorDash empowers grocers with the tools and technology to reach new and loyal customers where they’re at, said the company.

Participating Raley’s and Bashas’ stores will be available on DashPass, DoorDash’s membership program. The program offers its members $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees, and DashPass members will have access to these benefits on eligible orders of $35 or more from The Raley’s Companies.

The Raley’s Companies operates more than 235 locations across four states and four tribal nations under the banners Raley’s, Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods, Raley’s O-N-E Market, Bashas’, Food City, AJ’s Fine Foods and Bashas’ Diné Market.
